Theme for September 2007:
"Creating a Climate of Hope"

Chuck and Cheri Sheridan know about the importance of hope. In writing about their experience, Cheri recalls a very low point, a time when they almost lost hope. Chuck had already gone through two surgeries on his aorta, the first one an emergency. Learning that  he needed surgery yet again, it was understandably overwhelming for them both. But in continuing to search for information and help, they kept the door of hope open. They walked through that door, and because they refused to give up, they found the help they needed. Today, as Cheri has written, they "have their life back". And this is the message of TAAD Awareness 2007. We are surrounding those with TAAD with hope - hope that they too can triumph over aortic disease.
