Not everyone with a bicuspid aortic valve has a detectable heart murmur.
But for those who do, an abnormal heart sound may be the first indicator a BAV is there.

What do heart murmurs sound like? What are physicians listening for when they place their stethoscope to the chest?
The Texas Heart Institute has a Heart Sounds Podcast with audio of heart murmurs. The Aortic Valve Ejection Sounds topic mentions BAV, and there is also audio of aortic stenosis (narrowing) and aortic regurgitation (leakage). Following is a link to their webpage:
